Tissuville’s name origin has a narration of its own. “Tissu”- means, Interwoven, Interconnected and “Ville”- means Town.
The essence of Tissuville is based on the journey we intentionally embark upon to conquer the self. Allowing our higher self to grow, flourish, rise and carry on, through the connection and interaction we create and build with the world. This is the meaning behind the brand’s motto “To Conquer More”.
Being a brand rooted in symbolisms, the Tissuville Gryphon is a creature part eagle part lion with maracas. A powerful representation that embodies freedom (eagle), courage (lion) and flow (maracas).
Launched in 2019, the brand itself started its own journey in Stockholm 2011. Founder and designer Alegría Grifdal recalls the moment the Tissuville concept originated . “It was during a meditation, within a state of peace and joy that I felt the calling to explore and pave a way for my journey. It was not just the designs that started to take shape, or the colors, or the materials, it was all these emotions and feelings that appeared simultaneously with the ideas. I just knew that nothing or no one was going to stop me until I made it all tangible”, says Alegría.
In Mexico, Italy and Spain, Alegría trained, studied and was mentored by Master craftswomen and craftsmen. The quest to discover, learn, source the best materials and master the finest artisanal techniques took years to brew and it is a still ongoing adventure. Resulting in one of a kind pieces, with intricate work and at the same time a simplicity of an object of art that transmits conclusively.
